European Parliament member Tanja Fajon said in an interview to the news website that she will continue her efforts to push forward the visa liberalisation agenda for Kosovo, adding that there is hope that the Finish presidency of the EU will have understanding for the free travel of Kosovo’s citizens. Asked about the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Fajon said the two sides should resume talks as soon as possible, “as the current situation does not contribute to the progress of the region”. She also said Kosovo and Serbia leaders must be brave enough to find a solution that would first and foremost serve the interests of citizens of both countries. “I regret the current state of relations between Kosovo and Serbia. This situation does not contribute to progress and to efforts to make the lives of people easier and to have good neighbourly relations. I call on Pristina and Belgrade to find a solution, to resume dialogue as soon as possible and to refrain from nationalistic rhetoric and actions. I am very aware about the complicated situation on the ground, this is why we need leaders to be brave enough and ambitious to find a solution that would serve both peoples,” Fajon added.
