French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Serbia within this month, where he is expected to discuss the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Serbian newspaper ‘Blic’ reported that Macron’s position towards Kosovo has changed due to Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj’s disrespect of the request of France and Germany to lift the tax on Serbian products.

This is being denied by the Government of Kosovo. Donjeta Gashi, the government spokeswoman, told news.com that relations between Kosovo and France are immovable.

“Relations between Kosovo and France remain steadfast and these are facts, on the basis of inter-institutional and non-declarative cooperation. As a recent proof we have the fact that Prime Minister Haradinaj has recently met the Minister of Internal Affairs of France in Paris and the Prime Minister of France during the Poznan Summit,” Gashi said.

According to her, this partnership is long-lasting, and the government is committed to empower these reports of mutual interest.

“During the recent meetings Prime Minister Haradinaj has requested the support of the French side for visa liberalization and what we have received from France in response is that this country will not hinder this process and will also support Kosovo in the integration processes,” Gashi concluded.
