Thomas Schieb, German Ambassador to Serbia expressed optimism that the dialogue will resume soon.
He told Serbian media that currently, the main obstacle of the dialogue is the imposed tariff on Serbian products. He said the Paris Summit was not annulled, but only postponed however he did not know the date when it would take place.
Schieb said that Germany and France have tried to resume with the dialogue therefore they requested several times from Kosovo to lift the tariff.
“Dialogue for normalization of the relations between Belgrade and Pristina is of significant importance and having this in mind, we have tried with the French partners to organize the summit in Paris, which was not held,” he said adding that “the United States could have an important engagement in the dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, however the format should not change.”
