Kosovo Assembly Speaker Kadri Veseli, met significant personalities during his visit in the U.S. Today he was waited at a special meeting with the U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel.
They discussed close cooperation between the U.S. and Kosovo, political developments in Kosovo, strengthening Kosovo’s role in international arena, U.S.’s support for Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic perspective.
Veseli expressed appreciation for Engel’s and U.S.’s engagement to support Kosovo for several decades.
Engel said that the U.S. will continue to support Kosovo in all processes. He added that the EU should undertake speedy steps for visa liberalization for Kosovo people and work with Kosovo on Euro-integration processes.
He also said that Serbia should recognize Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.
Veseli and Engel also discussed the initiative of Kosovo Assembly Speaker ‘to punish Serbia’s genocide and crimes committed in Kosovo.’ Engel said criminals should be brought in front of justice for all committed crimes against civilian population in Kosovo.
