Ministry of Local Government Administration (MLGA), USAID and fourteen municipalities in Kosovo have signed the agreement of cooperation in the amount of EUR 12 million, Radio Mitrovica sever reports.
Five-year project aims to improve involvement of the citizens in decision-making processes, development of inter-municipal cooperation and improvement of the legal framework, the Radio added.
“Strengthening of inter-ethnic relations and promotion of diversity in municipalities represents a specific objective in the Strategy for Local Self-Government 2016-2020, which is also a constant request in the reports of EU institutions. The implementation of the USAID/LEGA contributes to the fulfillment of these strategic goals,” Minister of Local Government Administration Adrijana Hodzic said.
“I encourage all the representatives of the local government to be more active and agile, since your fellow residents will benefit the most from the implementation of this project”, Hodzic added.
Dragas, Gracanica, Klina, Ranilug, Klokot, Vucitrn, Mitrovica North, Zvecan, Novo Brdo, Leposavic, Istok, Strpce, Partes and Obilic municipalities have signed the agreement.
