The Assembly Speaker of Kosovo Kadri Veseli has strongly condemned the murder of a women today in Prizren by her husband.
“The grave murder case in Prizren is an unacceptable act which I strongly condemn. Domestic violence and the mistreatment of women are phenomena that run counter to the traditional values of our family as well as fundamental human rights. Women in Kosovo have consistently been subject to discrimination, abuse and violence. I hereby call on the police and justice institutions to provide the well-deserved response to this painful case and to address issues related to violence against women with priority and particular commitment. Negligence and indifference of state institutions of law to threatened women or women’s calls for help will not be tolerated,” Veseli wrote on his Facebook account.
