Ivica Dacic, Serbia’s Foreign Minister, said on Tuesday the chance for resumption of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on the normalisation of relations appeared, but not before new Kosovo’s Government was formed after October 6 election, the FoNet news agency reported.

Speaking after meeting Matthew Palmer in Bled, Slovenia, at the sidelines of the Western Balkan leaders’ strategic forum, Dacic said the American was “an old acquaintance, but that it won’t be easy for him.

”We knew each other for over ten years,” Dacic added, according to the statement from his office.

“We analysed the priorities of his job, and I can say he won’t have an easy time, but Serbia will be a constructive partner,” Dacic said.

The two, he added, discussed the relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

“We have to wait for the results of Kosovo’s elections and to hope that a new government will lift (the 100 percent) taxes (on goods from Serbia and Bosnia) and open a possibility to continue the dialogue,” the Minister said.

Dacic added that he talked about the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well, and about whether the European Union would open negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania and would Kosovo be granted visa-free regime.
