Vetevendosje leader and candidate for Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, met today in Pristina with a state delegation from Finland led by Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto. The meeting focused on the dialogue with Serbia, Vetevendosje’s opposition to ideas for the division of Kosovo or land swaps, and Russia’s influence in the region. Kurti said there should be democratic dialogue with all minority communities on social and economic topics that will help their integration in society and the economy. “Above this, in any dialogue, we need to respect three principles: 1. There will be no agreement without dialogue, 2. Dialogue must focus on the rights of citizens and not on land swaps, and 3. No dialogue with maps, not between Presidents of the two countries, but between experts,” Kurti said. He added that “Vetevendosje would always protect the territorial sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo and would never allow for some individuals to decide the fate of a people”.
