Acting Justice Minister of Kosovo Abelard Tahiri has issued a statement rejecting claims that the ministry has received final report from a Swiss forensic institute on the Astrit Dehari’s death at the Prizren detention centre in 2016.

Tahiri said that the allegations made by Dehari family attorney, Tome Gashi, that the Ministry of Justice has received the report are “untrue, tendentious, and absolutely unprofessional”.

“For the sake of correctly informing the public opinion, I would like to state that no document in connection to the Dehari case has reached the Ministry of Justice. Professionally, lawyer Gashi should know that this issue falls under law enforcement authorities and not the Ministry of Justice,” Tahiri said.

Gashi has called on Tahiri to forward him the forensic report which he said the Ministry of Justice has received from the Swiss institute in Lausanne.
