Federation of Associations of displaced persons from Kosovo in Serbia and Montenegro expressed concern because the return of displaced persons and refugees to Kosovo is not envisaged, according to the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina.

According to a statement regarding the agreement, which was initialed by PM of Serbia and Kosovo on 19 April, there were expectations that the “Serbian institutions will remain in the province and that the laws of the state of Serbia will be valid in all parts of Kosovo where the Serbian people are the majority,” because it is “the only guarantee for the survival “of Serbs in Kosovo and ” hope for their return.”

Federation of Associations of refugees and displaced persons from Kosovo expressed concern that the EU, as a mediator, had never advocated that two sides establish the conditions for the return of Serbs and others to Kosovo, as well compensated for their destroyed and usurped property.

Associations reminded that they supported the platform of President Tomislav Nikolic for the talks with Pristina and the Resolution of the Government and the Parliament of Serbia. They pointed out that the “betrayal” would not have happened if they respected the provisions of those documents.
