In Pristina was arrested son of Ibrahim Rugova, Uke Rugova and seven people charged for organized crime. At approximately the same time, in northern Mitrovica was arrested Dragoljub Delibasic, a retired colonel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, who is accused of committing several crimes during  1999 and 2000.Earlier was arrested Oliver Ivanovic who is also accused for committing serious crimes.

EULEX spokesperson Irina Gudeljević, said that Dragoljub Delibasic voluntarily came in the Office of the Kosovo Chief Prosecutor, and that later, according to the order of an international prosecutor he was arrested. “Suspect, as chief of police in Mitrovica in 1999 and 2000, was charged with incitement of committing the  murder, subtracting the lives of others, on the basis of ethnic motives and in complicity with Oliver Ivanovic, so called leader of the “Bridge keepers,” said Gudeljevic.

EULEX confirmed that this morning was arrested  Uke Rugova, the son of former President Ibrahim Rugova. Beside him seven more people were arrested. “I can confirm that EULEX conducted searches and arrests of several people who are suspected of belonging to an organized criminal group, which is charged with organized crime , trafficking in influence and fraud,” said Irina Gudeljević.

Political analyst Albinot Maloku points out that he is confident that EULEX is doing its job fairly. “I try to believe in the EULEX Justice. I would recommend to the Serbian community in Kosovo, not to perceive it as arrest just because he was a Serb, because EULEX raids ministers in the Government of Kosovo,” said Maloku.

Executive Director of the Center for Peace and Tolerance, Nenad Maksimovic points out that this is probably not the end of arrests in northern Kosovo. “The last arrests are not surprising because even in September last year was public a list of 32 names of people who were suspected of organizing the defense of the city, on the bridge, and the murder of Albanians in 2000. Although the list was denied by all, I am pretty sure it is relevant and in fact this is not the last arrest,” says Maksimovic.
