United Nations Development Programme began implementation of the second stage of Public Pulse (2014-2017) project. The project will continue to bring perception trends of the Kosovo citizens on democratic, economic developments and public participation on biannual basis.

Research products of the Public Pulse will also provide detailed and based analysis of citizens’ perceptions on political and institutional, economic and social stability, inter-ethnic relations and other development of importance to the country.

In addition, the Public Pulse will provide professional support for public and government institutions in producing Action Documents and Analysis of the Public Pulse – research into a thematic field relating to selected institutions and topics identified based on results of the Public Pulse surveys.

The first stage of the Public Pulse project covered the period from 2010 to 2013. During this time, eight surveys were carried out with citizens of Kosovo, seven of them included roughly 1,300 respondents while one around 550.  As a result, six Public Pulse Reports were published and five Action Documents in cooperation with Kosovo institutions (Kosovo Judicial Council, Association of Kosovo Professional Journalists, Municipality of Prizren, Ministry of Health and Ministry of European Integration).

The Public Pulse is a successor of the Early Warning project which was a joint UNDP and USAID initiative since 2002. This project during 2002-2010, conducted 29 surveys with citizens of Kosovo, each with 1,300 respondents, and published results in 28 Early Warning reports.

From outset, this project was implemented through financial support from USAID.
