Outgoing PM Ivica Dačić says that U.S. and other officials whom he met during the National Prayer Breakfast had “kind words” regarding Serbia’s policy.

Speaking in Washington on Thursday, he said they “pointed to the country’s contribution in the establishment of regional peace and stability.”

During the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, Dačić conferred with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.

“In the talks with Secretary of State Kerry, I reiterated our interest in a greater presence of the U.S. administration in the region, and I invited him to visit the region and Serbia,” Dačić told reporters in Washington, after the event hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama.

Dačić said that the officials he had a chance to meet, including the U.S. secretary of state, congressmen, senators, high officials and leaders of countries worldwide, voiced fine assessments of the policy pursued by Serbia.

The prime minister said that during his stay in the U.S., he will have a series of important meetings in the U.S. Congress, Senate, Department of State, and that he will also confer with FBI and DEA representatives.

On February 10, Dačić will take part in the session of the UN Security Council on the situation in Kosovo.
