After the arrest of retired Colonel of the Serbian Police Dragoljub Delibašić (57), who is suspected for committing murders in 1999 and 2000, fear and uncertainty were further heightened among the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

Kosovo Serbs assume that Croatian scenario will begin to apply in the province and that even tomorrow, either of them could finish behind the bars, under suspicious charges and even more suspicious witnesses, just as in the case of Croatian Serbs.

“I just spoke with some people what we should do. I’m afraid that this is a scenario that will further intimidate the Serbian community, while some people, due to fear, will leave the province. I wonder who the next is. Who will be “alleged suspect”, charged with serious crimes and with the help of two witnesses that after all this time suddenly appear,” commented Goran Bogdanovic, former Minister for Kosovo and Metohija.

Kosovo Special Prosecution suspects that Delibašić, as chief of police in Mitrovica, in 1999/2000 instigated the murders and attempted murders of Albanians, in complicity with the then alleged leader of “Bridge watchers”, Oliver Ivanovic.

No one among the Serbs denied that every crime should be investigated, but it is strange that after so many years people that all the time are living in Kosovo and available to them, have been arrested. “I do not ask the question whether someone is guilty or not, it is up to the Court, but what the international community did since 1999 to this day,” asked Bogdanovic.
