Four municipalities in the north populated mostly by Serbs will try today to elect municipal leaderships in municipal assemblies before the deadline expires today.

It could happen also that Northern Mitrovica goes to extraordinary elections for assembly too, since Serbian and Albanian parties couldn’t agree about the speaker of the assembly.

Five Albanian councilors in Northern Mitrovica assembly decided to be neutral during voting for the speaker of the local assembly. DPK advisor Emir Azemi said that due to tightened political relations amongst Serbs they don’t want to support either of the candidates.

It is expected that three remaining municipalities, Leposavic, Zvecan and Zubin Potok, will call municipal assemblies’ sessions even though they didn’t inform Albanian councilors about it.
