Government of Serbia’s Office for Kosovo and Metohija yesterday condemned desecration of the Orthodox church in Djakovica/Gjakovë, where anti-Serbian graffiti were written, and requested from international community to react in order to stop hatred against Serbs.

Inscription ‘Only dead Serb is a good Serb’ is placed on the wall of the church in Djakovica/Gjakovë.

Office’s statement points out that ‘every unpunished crime leads to a new crime, hence the spread of national and religious hatred is only continuation of events, which took place in Djakovica/Gjakovë for Christmas and All Souls Day’.
Office for Kosovo assessed that message written on the church in Djakovica/Gjakovë is consequence of the lack of condemnation of the lynch to which Serbs were exposed on 7 January and the ban on visiting the graves of their loved ones, along with the fact that no one was charged or punished for those incidents and other crimes against Serbs in the province.
