Nemanja Sarovic, deputy leader of the Serbian Radical Party, set on fire the Kosovo flag in Belgrade on Thursday. Sarovic said his act was a response to the Serbian Government “which is a traitor and was settling political scores with our party”. Sarovic burned the flag in front of the Palace of Justice and was then interrogated by police.

Sarovic, who is running for mayor of Belgrade, said his act was aimed at cleaning the Serbian capital city. “The regime cannot send me to the police every time that I set on fire what the prosecution calls the flag of the so-called Republic of Kosovo,” Sarovic was quoted as saying.
