BELGRADE – A joint operation carried out by Serbian and Montenegrin authorities ended early Tuesday with the arrest of runaway drug lord Darko Saric, TV Pink reported.
The sensitive, carefully planned operation was conducted by the two countries’ ministers of justice, Nikola Selakovic and Dusko Markovic.
The Serbian Prosecutor’s office for organised crime has raised a total of five indictments against Darko Saric for illegal drug trade and money laundering.
Serbia’s outgoing Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Ivica Dacic said in January 2013 that the noose around Saric was tightening and that his arrest would be the next step.
