The protest against Prizren Mayor Ramadan Muja ended after the protesters were told no one is at the Municipality’s premises. Protesters dispersed peacefully, but said they hoped Muja would be dismissed from his post during the week.

One of the protesters, Lirim Krasniqi, urged those gathered in the crowd not to give up until Muja is dismissed. He said Prime Minister Hashim Thaci is putting pressure on Muja not to resign.

Protesters also accused Muja of keeping the municipality suspended, saying it is there to serve the citizens.

Earlier, tens of protesters marched from the centre of Prizren towards the municipal building, demanding the resignation of its mayor.

Active citizens of Prizren chanted for Muja’s resignation and held up signs asking for the same. The protesters blocked the road and an increased police presence was noted at the site.

The crowd was joined by other citizens along the way, totaling approximately 100 protesters.
