Publicist Shkelzen Maliqi argues in an opinion piece that Kosovo President Hashim Thaçi’s recent visit to the memorial of fourteen Serbs killed in the village of Gracke, Lipjan, immediately after the war, was a courageous step aimed at improving relations between Albanians and Serbs and one that will contribute to Kosovo building a higher level of trust between the two communities. Maliqi writes: “Every crime and act of terror must be called by its real name and being that this is about a crime committed 17 years ago, it is never too late to pay the merited respect to the victims. In this case, one must also note that at the time when the crime was committed, Hashim Thaçi was prime minister of the Kosovo Provisional Government that had symbolic authority because the reins of power were in the hands of UNMIK and KFO
