Silence and denial of the existence of attacks on Serbs, their property and holy shrines in Kosovo has become an established practice, while institutions in Pristina failed when it comes to exercising basic human rights of Serbs, said in the TV show “Dogovor” Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister, Branimir Stojanović. “The fundamental problem is that many institutions don’t perform their job, while persons that should punish them for the lack of professionalism and lack of will to do their job do not exist. When it comes to safety and overall living conditions, the biggest responsibility is on Albanian politicians,” said Stojanović.

Nenad Maksimović, author of the publication about ethnically motivated attacks on Serbs, says that in the Albanian community in Kosovo there is “endemic tolerance to the intolerance”, or a wall of silence on all forms of violence against vulnerable groups. Maksimović considers that the institutions are responsible to create a safe environment for all citizens, while civilian society should publicly condemn bad things in their society.
