The Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS) and Association of Journalists of Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) strongly condemns the writing of the Kosovo public service. RTK on Albanian language published an unsigned article in which insinuates that “a well-known Serbian journalist from Kosovo, Gracanica” with B.N. initials is a Russian spy.

The text, which referred to the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, alleges that B.N collects funds from Western countries present in Kosovo. The text also stated a number of first and last names of Serbs who are accused of espionage in favour of Russia.

UNS and DNKiM seek from Kosovo media community, professional associations, the Press Council to urgently respond to this kind of writing by the public service, whose text was taken up by other Albanian media in Kosovo.

They expect of OSCE mission in Kosovo and other international representatives to publicly announce on the occasion of writing of the RTK, especially bearing in mind that the false news, published by the public broadcaster RTK, had initiated the violence against Serbs in March 2004, when they had have reported that Serbs were guilty for the drowning of two Albanian children in the Ibar River in northern Kosovo.
