Talks in Brussels were difficult, but we must be aware of the consequences if the agreement is not reached, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric told RTS. Djuric underlined that whatever we get it would be more than what we have now.
Djuric agreed with Thaci’s remarks these were the most difficult talks so far. “I agree the meeting was one of the most difficult so far. You see statements and the nervousness of Haradinaj and Thaci, their war threats and insistence of full recognition,” Djuric said talking for the RTS news edition. He also linked the Kosovo issue with the economic progress of Serbia.
“If there would be no agreement, the situation would not remain as it is. In the next three, four or five years we would bring the country and the region back to the conflict. There would be no peace (…),” Djuric said.
He reiterated President Vucic will not accept recognition of Kosovo, adding they are mobilized to ensure support for Serbia’s position, since interests of Serbia are not only fought for in Brussels, but also in the talks with other officials, Russians, Americans and French President Emmanuel Macron.
