In an interview with KTV, Presevo Mayor Shqiprim Arifi, said that they are against the idea of Kosovo and Serbia exchanging territory and that what they want is for the three municipalities in the Presevo Valley to join Kosovo. “There is talk of land swap and we all maintain said this would go to the detriment of the territory of Kosovo. “We want Kosovo to be together with the Valley and the North,” Arifi said. “It is important to seize this moment to advance our rights. The maximum is to go back to a referendum and decide on joining Kosovo. The chance is slim but we have to seize it,” he added. Arifi further criticized the political spectrum in Kosovo and Albania for not supporting Presevo Valley. He said leaders in Pristina and Tirana should ‘point a finger to their heads and ask what they are doing for the national cause.”
