Serbian media reports that on 15 September President of Russia, Vladimir Putin will host Aleksandar Vucic President of Serbia to discuss a solution to Kosovo’s issue.

Before meeting Putin, in their 13th official encounter in several years, and the third since Vucic became the president, he will have another round of talks with Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci in Brussels, within the framework of the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue facilitated by the European Union, planned for early next month.

In the last meeting also in Moscow, Russia said it would actively follow the content of the dialogue and especially the influence of the international players, adding it would react timely.

No other details were revealed.

Vucic then said that it was impossible to find any solution to Kosovo’s issue without Moscow’s consent in the United Nations.
Apart from the European Union whose diplomacy chief Federica Mogherini is facilitating the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue, the United States plays a significant role without any direct involvement.

Belgrade has said that Moscow, and possibly Beijing, should also have some role.

Media recalls that Putin will visit Serbia in November, for the second time in four years.

Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti reports that Tramp associate arrives in Belgrade in the first half of September, a senior US official in charge of one of the US economic administrations. The daily wrote that it is about a close associate of President Trump, so, apart from economic cooperation, it is expected that in the talks with Serbian officials “on the table” there will be a series of political issues. Daily also adds that these issues will be primarily dedicated to resolving the Kosovo issue and that signals have been sent from Washington in recent weeks that it has not been “nailed” and that a compromise is possible around it.
