As long Serbs and Albanians live in the same areas, with contradicting interests there would be no lasting peace and stability without a historic compromise, Office for Kosovo and Metohija Director, Marko Djuric told Politika daily. Djuric also said Serbia is ready to look for such historic compromise, but he is not an optimist it would be found. He underlined that both Serbia and Serbs would have more territory, money and rights if the Kosovo issue is resolved. Asked what would be the situation of Serbs living south of the Ibar River, if north of Kosovo would belong to Serbia, Djuric responded they would have more than what they have today, and in case the agreement is not reached, Serbia would allocate greater assistance to enclaves.
