Several news websites cover today’s meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Parliamentary Commissioner for the Armed Forces of Germany, Hans Peter Bartels. Haradinaj briefed Bartels on Kosovo’s progress and his government’s priorities for economic development and strengthening the rule of law, and thanked Germany for its continuous support to the Kosovo’s state-building process. Haradinaj and Bartels talked about furthering cooperation between the two countries, and also Germany’s role in the process of dialogue with Belgrade, visa liberalization, Kosovo’s membership of international organizations, with special emphasis on INTERPOL membership. Haradinaj also briefed Bartels about the transitioning of the Kosovo Security Force into the Armed Forces of Kosovo, as a professional, multiethnic and well-prepared force and said he expects Germany to play an important role in the process. Bartels said Germany will continue to support Kosovo in its path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.
