The publication of letters signed by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj on the recent controversy over war veterans has failed to calm the debate about this issue.
To counter accusations that he had interfered in the prosecution’s work in the investigation of fake veterans, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj on Thursday published a letter that he sent to the now resigned Special Prosecutor Elez Blakaj – in which he expressed readiness to provide him with all the necessary documents filed in his office.
In the letter, dated September 26, 2017, two weeks after Haradinaj took office, he set a 30-day term for the investigation and requested a report at end of the process.
However, Syle Hoxha, a Special Prosecutor in charge of media communications, has rejected the idea that the prosecution was bound to submit any report to the PM.
