The Civic Vojvodina Coalition believes that the idea of “exchanging territory” and ethnic “demarcation” between Serbia and Kosovo is extremely dangerous and irrational and cannot be justified by any long-term solution for Kosovo, reports Belgrade based daily Danas.
The Coalition appeal to all participants in the Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, especially international factors, to not allow the realization of this ethno-nationalist plan that is completely contrary to the European values, because, as they state, it will not be a solution, but, on the contrary , means the beginning of a new serious crisis, which will have consequences not only on the Balkans but on the whole of Europe.
“Is it possible that we have not learned anything from the recent past? Should it be recalled that the worst crimes in Europe after the Second World War, including ethnic cleansing and genocide, were committed in the 1990s in the territory of the former Yugoslavia under the “exchange of territory” and “human migration of the population”? That millions of displaced people and at least 130,000 people were killed? That the territory of former Yugoslavia has not recovered to this day and will not, if the same people continue to implement the same policies and for that to have also have the support of the international community,” reads in today’s announcement of Civic Vojvodina, reports Danas.
