German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas told Greek daily he is worried about Belgrade-Pristina negotiations, adding that “an attempt to eliminate diversity by changing the border lines is dangerous,” Beta news agency reports.

Speaking to the Greek Kathimerini newspaper, Mass noted that “real reconciliation should happen between Serbia and Kosovo.”

“The only adequate way for this to happen is (to show) more tolerance and accept diversities,” Maas said, adding an attempt to eliminate them by moving the border lines would be dangerous.

German FM Mass was in official visit to Tirana and Athens.

Germany is bitter opponent to any border changes in the Balkans, fearing domino effect.

Belgrade and Pristina included the issue with opposite and often vague ideas, but it has not been on the dialogue official agenda in Brussels yet.

The European Union, which is facilitating Belgrade-Pristina talks on normalization of relations, has been cautious regarding this idea, while the United States showed more relaxed attitude, saying if both sides agree, there should be no problem.
