Kosovo Assembly Committee approved today in principal the three draft laws for transformation of Kosovo Security Force into an army. After the discussions, members of the committee except for the Serbian List, voted for KSF transformation. Fatmir Xhelili from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) said Kosovo army will be created based on NATO standards while Imet Beqiri from the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK spoke about the importance of the endorsement of these draft laws. Rexhep Selimi from Vetevendosje Movement supported the draft laws adding that he had greater expectations and promised on maximal engagement during the reading of these draft laws at the Assembly. Daut Haradinaj from Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) said Kosovo citizens have reason to be happy today.
The Committee endorsed in principal draft laws No.06/L-122 for the Ministry of Defense; No.06/L123 for the Kosovo Security Force as well as draft law No.06/L-124 for serving of the Kosovo Security Force.
