Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj said today that the idea of land swap between Kosovo and Serbia is dead and called on opposition parties to support the draft resolution prepared by institutional leaders. He said the text of the draft resolution clearly states the responsibilities of negotiators in the dialogue with Serbia. Haradinaj also said the document reaffirms the principle that Kosovo borders cannot be negotiated by anyone and that it is a product of a careful debate.

PM Haradinaj also commented on the announced protest in Mitrovica calling for the opening of the main River Iber/Ibar bridge. Haradinaj appealed to Mitrovica Mayor Agim Bahtiri not to incite actions at such a critical time. He said Kosovo government is facing several important issues including transformation of the Kosovo Security Force, Interpol membership, and visa liberalisation. “I would kindly ask Mr. Bahtiri and all others that wish to help the country to do their jobs and help the citizens but not try and enter the big politics race by interfering and damaging such important matters,” Haradinaj noted.

Haradinaj made the comments after presenting Albanian author Helena Kadare with the “Golden Map of Kosovo” award.
