Kosovo’s Minister for European Integration, Dhurata Hoxha, said in Pristina today that Kosovo’s authorities are not only meeting the requirements for EU membership but also speeding up the process and that European integration and full membership remains a priority of the Kosovo government. Hoxha made these remarks at the meeting of the Stabilization/Association Committee. “We are happy that the visa liberalization process is in its final stage and we expect a positive decision from the EU Council so that Kosovars can join other citizens of Europe. The government remains committed to concretize the ERA in terms of reforms and their implementation,” Hoxha added. David Cullen, head of the Kosovo Unit at the European Commission said Kosovo’s progress will be measured through the implementation of legal documents. “There have been positive developments in the region. Kosovo’s authorities must use the dialogue with Serbia and this momentum. At the Stabilization/Association Council’s meeting next year we will see the commitment of all authorities in Kosovo to address the most important issues such as reforms, the fight against corruption and organization crime, which should be given absolute priority,” Cullen said.
