Pride Parade was held in Pristina today, within the Week of Pride aiming to raise awareness and empower the LGBT population, Serbian media report.

Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj supported this manifestation, saying that sexual orientation is an individual right that every society should respect.

Ambassadors accredited in Pristina, head of EU Office Natalya Apostolova, Pristina mayor Shpend Ahmeti attended the parade, while from the Kosovo Government only Minister for Euro-Integration, Durata Hoxha was in attendance.

The Pride Parade started at 11:30 on the Skanderbeg square in front of the Assembly and Kosovo Government and ended on the Zahir Pajziti square across Hotel Grand in Pristina.

Pristina based media reported that according to the survey of the National Democratic Institute only 3 percent of respondents said they would accept their child to be LGBT, while 97 percent of respondents said they would not allow to live in the same house with a member of LGBT community.
