Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj told reporters today in Pristina that it was his idea to organize a reception for world delegations in New York after the United Nations General Assembly and that it was later cancelled after the delegations did not confirm their attendance. Koha Ditore reported this morning that a $20,000 fee had to be paid to Hilton hotel even after the reception was cancelled. “Thousands of dollars are spent as part of diplomatic efforts and not all of them reach their objectives … We had to book a hall for this meeting and of course meetings can fail … It would be good if this was the only case, but there are cases too, when due to busy schedules such meetings cannot take place,” Haradinaj was quoted as saying.
