First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will represent Serbia at a UN Security Council session on November 14.

A report of the UN Secretary-General on the work of the UNMIK for the period from July 16 – October 15 will be examined during the session, the Serbian government has announced.

Due to the fact that a UN Security Council session on the work of the UNMIK was not held in August when it was to be held according to the established dynamics of the quarterly holding of sessions, Wednesday’s session will also look at the report for the period April 15-July 15, the government said.

In addition to advocating for maintaining the regular dynamics and format of the Security Council sessions on the work of the UNMIK and voicing support to the work of this mission in the same volume and with the same mandate, Dacic will make an analysis of the two reports of the UN secretary-general on the work of the UNMIK.

He will also present our assessment of the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija, especially in the context of a number of provocative and unilateral moves by Pristina in the recent period, as well as the increased number of attacks on Serbs and their property in the province.

Dacic will meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and with other officials in the United Nations.

His visit to New York will be used for current diplomatic activities.
