Abdullah Hoti, caucus of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) said the government of Kosovo has lost its legitimacy to govern since April. “I have signatures of PSD and Vetevendosje in my office. We are ready, but currently votes of the opposition are not enough for motion of distrust on the government. We have also stressed that this government does not have the 61 votes to endorse even the simplest laws,” Hoti said.
He added that with Serbian List’s departure from the coalition, the government does not have the legitimacy, despite the fact that the opposition does not have sufficient number of signatures to bring down the government.
“In democratic countries, the moment that a prime minister does not have the votes to move the governing agenda forward, he either resigns or challenges himself,” Hoti said.
“The Prime Minister should call one of the opposition political parties for co-governance by making 61 votes and function normally, or we should agree on the date of elections. There are these two ways, there is no other,” Hoti said.
“We have said that we are not ready to join this governing but let us sit together and pull our country from crisis,” Hoti concluded.
