Director of Kosovo Center for Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (KRCT) Feride Rushiti, together with the director of Center for the Promotion of Women’s Rights, Kadire Tahiraj and Vasfije Krasniqi-Goodman, survivor of sexual violence from Kosovo during the war, are taking part in the event “From words to action: repairing the wounds of wartime sexual violence,” organized by the Denis Mukwage Foundation in The Hague.

Rushiti will talk about sexual violence as a means of war that was massively used during 1998-1999; the difficulties through which survivors of sexual violence have passed and are passing; dealing with the past, stigmatizing of this sensitive social category, and promoting a comprehensive approach and dignified treatment for survivors of sexual violence; recognition of the legal status of survivors of sexual violence; a personal pension that recognizes their suffering and pain; as well as the difficulties that victims face in accessing justice.
