Several news websites publish what it seems is the response Prime Minister of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj sent to the EU, namely the High Representative Federica Mogherini and commissioners Cecilia Malmstrom and Johannes Hahn, following their letter where they ask Kosovo institutions to suspend the 100-percent import tax on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In his letter, Haradinaj says that “twenty years after the end of the war in Kosovo, ten years after Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo and five years after the first Brussels Agreement, the reality is that progress towards normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia has been minimal – and in fact has now stalled completely.” Haradinaj goes on to say that now is the time for a new initiative that would elevate the dialogue to a level where issues such as the import tariffs would be addressed as part of a broader settlement. “I firmly believe that with your engagement a resolution is possible,” he writes.
