After almost two-month protests of Strpce inhabitants against construction of a mini hydro-power plant at the location of the two rivers, an agreement was reached, and construction works have been halted, Radio KIM reports.
“Following a one-hour meeting in Strpce municipality and 56 days of protests, we have come to an agreement, joint victory and a concrete solution to halt the works on the construction of a mini hydro-power plant at the location know as “Both Rivers,” Stojan Josimovic one of the protest organizers said.
“I hope that in the forthcoming period, by next steps and legal acts we would manage to permanently stop the works, but also to find a final solution related to the mini hydro-power plant,” he added.
One more meeting would be held today at noon, during which Strpce inhabitants would hear detailed information about yesterday’s meeting.
