Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said in an interview to RTSH that he never thought there would come a time when Kosovo’s relations with the United States of America would be questioned. Commenting on the 100-percent import tariff on Serbian and Bosnian goods, Thaci said the damage inflicted on Serbia was not worth it. “I don’t believe there is a single leader in Kosovo who feels good that for the damage of several million euros to Serbia we received a slap from the U.S.,” Thaci said. “Kosovo must not be the one that creates obstacles in the process of dialogue. I believe that in the coming days and weeks we will find a creative solution [for the tariff] … No damage to Serbia justifies damaging our relations with the U.S.”. Thaci also said that U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton, in a telephone conversation, said Kosovo must lift the tariff and make way to dialogue. “He also said that the U.S. was losing its patience,” he added.
