Serbian Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said, in relation to the 11th anniversary since the declaration of independence in Kosovo, that “Kosovo Albanians have nothing to rejoice about,” BETA news agency reported. He added, “the times when solutions were imposed by force are long gone”.
Dacic told the journalists after visiting the memorial room “Kosmet victims” in Belgrade that the presence of international officials on Sunday in Pristina, that included only Albanian PM Edi Rama, indicates what level of international support Kosovo Albanians have.
“What country is that, if 11 years after declaration of independence, it did not become member of the UN, Interpol, Council of Europe. The independence of Kosovo is built on lies and crimes, and such was a lie, Hashim Thaci made in Munich, saying that 116 states recognized Kosovo, while at voting in Interpol they got 74 votes. It is just a story for the international public to evoke further recognitions,” Dacic said.
Commenting on a letter USA President Donald Trump sent to the Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on the occasion of Serbia’s Statehood Day, in which he called for mutual recognitions between Belgrade and Pristian, Dacic said that the current US administration advocates for a compromise, while earlier what they only requested was recognition of Kosovo independence.
He also noted that the revoking of tariffs and not shedding the light on the crimes against Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija has become the main issue.
There were crimes on all sides, Dacic said, adding that he wrote to the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the number of raped Albanian women that the Kosovo officials use, however the WHO “does not have that data.”
According to Dacic, Serbia does not want to aggravate its conflict with Pristina, but to discuss and reach a compromise solution.
Serbia does not intend to recognize Kosovo’s independence and it will never do so, Dacic said, adding that our country will continue to pursue the policy of withdrawal of the recognition of Kosovo’s independence, although it is pressed to stop with it.
The minister said that in the past twenty years, Serbia repaid more than EUR 700 million in loans for Trepca, which Kosovo companies were taking. We repay this because we maintain that Kosovo is part of the Serbian territory, and they do not say “do not pay for us, we are an independent state”. When it is to pay, then they are part of Serbia, Dacic underlined.
In addition to all that, current leaders in Pristina are people for whom arrest warrants have been issued for the crimes they had committed in Kosovo and Metohija, Dacic underlined.
