Unknown perpetrators have stolen two cows in Partes, near Gnjilane over the weekend, RTV Puls reported.
One cow belonging to seven-member family Vasic was stolen in the center of the village, while the other one belonged to four-member Mirkovic family. Both families live on agriculture, and cows are the primary source of incomes to them.
Parters mayor Dragan Petkovic condemned the recent cattle thefts in this municipality.
“This is a major damage to the families whose cows were stolen, given that they live on that. Thefts are not happening for the first time, however, perpetrators of this and other thefts in the municipality have not found yet,” Petkovic said, adding he expects from responsible institutions to do their utmost and find the perpetrators.
RTV Puls recalled that since 1999 more than 30 cows were stolen, but also vehicles. Houses are often burglarized given that major part of the population works abroad. So far, according to the RTV Puls the police did not resolve any single case.
