In a Facebook post, Haradinaj said he was pleased to share Germany’s statement of support for Kosovo through Foreign Minister Maas who states that reforms carried out in Kosovo “are impressive and need to be acknowledged.” “This is reconfirmation that Germany’s unreserved support is a result of close and sincere partnership with the German state and is decisive for the visa liberalisation process and Kosovo’s European journey,” Haradinaj wrote.
Majority of media outlets in Kosovo quoted Germany’s Foreign Minister Heiko Maas telling German paper Stuttgarder Nachrichten that it would be wrong for the EU and Germany to give up support for Kosovo. Maas warned that if this were to happen “everything that took a long time to be built will collapse in a short time.” “We want a European perspective for Kosovo and the reforms carried out there are impressive and need to be acknowledged,” the German minister said.
