The President of Kosovo Hashim Thaci, has sent at the Constitutional Court the decisions of the government for the immovable properties of Kosovo to be transferred under the property of municipalities, by withdrawing them from the privatization process. The President claims that with this decision, the Prime Minister has violated the Constitution of Kosovo and endangered national security.
Furthermore, Thaci claimed that this decision is the start of implementation of the Association of the Serb-majority Municipalities with executive competencies. Therefore, in his request addressed to the Constitutional Court, the President has requested interpretation of articles 92 paragraph 4 and 93 paragraph 4 of the Constitution, which clarify the constitutional dispositions with regards to the rights of the government to transfer immovable properties to the municipalities, despite the fact that Kosovo has its Law on public properties.
Kosovo Assembly President Kadri Veseli, supported Thaci’s initiative. He reminded Haradinaj that the coalition will last as long as it supports interests of the citizens, and added that any decision of the Constitutional Court will be implemented.
