Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said today that the Pristina decision to introduce tariffs on Serbian goods defreeze so-called frozen conflict, Tanjug news agency reported.
He added, this is the reason why he is afraid of everything that might happen in the future. Vucic also said that Ramush Haradinaj “nominated private Serbs for his ministers,” in reference to the decision of Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj to nominate Dijana Zivic from Independent Liberal Party (SLS) as minister of agriculture, instead of Nenad Rikalo who was deposed earlier.
Vucic made these remarks following the meeting with French Minister for European Affairs, Nathalie Loiseau, to whom he conveyed how difficult situation over Kosovo and Metohija for Serbia is, in which Pristina imposes 100 percent tariffs, does not implement the Brussels agreement, and does not want to establish the Association/Community of Serb-majority Municipalities.
Vucic also underlined that Serbia acted responsibly, did not undertake any reciprocity measures, adding it is not only about Serbia’s patience.
“It is impossible to stand all sorts of insults every day, such is the latest one, when Ramush Haradinaj nominates private Serbs for his ministers, whom no one elected, in order to showcase how powerful he is. Serbia will not accept it, it would preserve its dignity and people, and we will try to preserve peace and stability at any price, but we will not allow that somebody humiliates our people or God forbids attacks them,” Vucic said.
He also thanked French Minister for France requesting Pristina to revoke the tariffs.
Vucic said that the statement of German Foreign Affairs Minister Heiko Maas that Germany would continue supporting Pristina regardless of the tariffs is “a major disappointment” to him. Vucic said he is also surprised by such statement due to different reasons, in particular given that Germany should not be supporting a ban on free movement of goods, services and people.
