Florian Hahn, spokesperson for the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the German Bundestag, said in an interview with Deutsche Welle that the idea of border changes as part of Kosovo-Serbia final agreement is an issue that needs to be approached with caution “but I personally think that when two sovereign states agree to change their joint border and when they are able to hold responsibility for their countries, I think the international community should accept that agreement.” Asked about the possible repercussions of such an agreement, Hahn said that the agreement between Kosovo and Serbia would have to incorporate mutual recognition of sovereignty. “If it relates to that and other countries agree to the border change, I think at least this agreement has no reason to be rejected immediately,” he said.
