The registration of Trepca as a public company is a matter of days according to Kosovo PM Ramush Haradinaj.
Haradinaj perceives Belgrade as an obstacle for that, while at the same time he offered to Serbs seats in Main Board of Trepca, and, as Kontakt plus radio reported, they refused it.
Office for Kosovo and Metohija said that they would continue to prevent any attempt of the Serbian property usurpation.
”They are trying to usurp Trepca, and the thing with those board members is a farce; imagine someone barging into your apartment and saying – we’ll invite for coffee on Sundays,” said Director of the Office for KiM Marko Djuric.
General director of Trepca Jovan Dimkic says that it is completely uncertain what will happen in the near future.
Half of the mines in the south are controlled by Albanians, half in the north by Serbs, where about 2,400 of them work. Instead of the company that is now under the management of UNMIK, the Statute stipulates the existence of ten business units.
”Unfortunately, this is not a matter of our acceptance or choice, there are many administrative possibilities i.e. mechanisms, which Pristina has at its disposal to do it without our willingness. We have clearly expressed our position and what we think about it,” said Dimkic.
The issue of property wasn’t opened in Brussels. A month ago, Spokesperson of the European Commission said that Trepca should be the subject of the dialogue, but a day later, she said that the topics are being selected by the interlocutors, writes Kontakt plus radio.
Pristina refused to talk about the mine two years ago by declaring it Kosovo’s property.
Director of the Office for KiM stated that Serbia will continue to prevent any attempt to usurp the Serbian property.
”Since 2016, they are trying to take something that is not theirs, and since 2016, fortunately we managed to stop these efforts, although we are not physically and security-wise present on the ground as the state since 1999. We will continue to support and fight for the survival of our people,” Djuric said.
