Asked about the issue of visa liberalization for Kosovo, European Parliament MP Tanja Fajon, spoke to lajmi.net about difficult period of this process due the EU elections.
“EU governments failed to give the green light for liberalisation of visas for Kosovo. We are still waiting for them, and I have continuously appealed to EU leaders to take over responsibility and to give to Kosovans what they deserve. I am aware of the difficult situation. I am aware for the difficult situation in the field, however I also call on Kosovo leaders to fulfil all the required criteria,’ Fajon said.
“We should work together with Kosovo authorities and I will do everything that is in my power to support your country in its path towards EU and for visa liberalization to become a reality as soon as possible,” she said.
Asked if visa liberalisation is related to the imposed tariff for Serbian products, Fajon’s response was short: No. She however added that there might be implications in the process as governments of EU countries could use Pristina’s steps as decisions as justification to vote against liberalization.
