A few days ago, there was reporting that as part of the project “Sustainable return – support and empowerment” financed by EU, displaced Serbs in different parts of Serbia were publicly called to return and promised to receive different means in value of €2.500.

A similar two million project was completed by Vushtrri/Vucitrn municipality in the period 2003 – 2010, however, Serbs took the €2000 cash, demolished the houses and left again for Serbia.

“The EU Office does not finance any return and reintegration project in four northern municipalities of Kosovo. We are currently financing a project for return and reintegration in 11 municipalities (Peja, Klina, Istog, Obiliq, Fushe Kosove, Gracanice, Novoberde, Lamenice, Shterpce, Prizren and Rahovec) but offering opportunities for the families of the displaced minorities with origin from Kosovo,” is written in the EU Office response to Zeri.

According to them, this project is implemented through strict procedures confirming the eligibility of future beneficiaries through civil status books, property titles and other criteria for the selection of beneficiaries.
